No. I didn't have thousands to spend on it. So I went to Amazon, of course I have to use up my free two day shipping for a year.
I research for several days and finally decided on the AmScope M150C / M150C-I 40X-1000X All-Metal Optical Glass Lenses Cordless LED Student Biological Compound Microscope- https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AM5XB5O/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1.
This is the highest rating microscope, 203 reviews with 4.5 stars. I could find at the price range and it was only - $84.98!! Wasn't expecting much. I thought to myself as long as I can see the algae and identify the straings I'll be happy!!
I also "splurged" and purchase a camera to connect to my pc. I purchased the lowest priced one Amscope offers. Its the - AmScope MD35 New Microscope Imager Digital USB Camera, Compatible with Windows XP/Vista/7/8/10 - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AMOEFPA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1.
Again. pretty solid on the reviews. Its resolution is only 640 X 480 so wasnt expecting much there.
I connected everything and installed the software and was VERY IMPRESSED!!!
Here are the first images and videos I took.

VERY PLEASED with the microscope and Camera Combo!!
No if only I can get SOMETHING to grow in my incubator. 15 days and still nothing. I have several samples and two different types of media, NOTHING.
SOOOOOO I am rebuilding my PBR and will just put my algae petri dishes on the same and see what happens....
